Measure out a 40-gram serving of oats (1/3 cup).

Add a little over 1 1/2 cups liquid.

Microwave or cook on the stove, but stop before all the water is absorbed. (I microwave for 4 minutes, then leave in the closed microwave for 5 more minutes.)

Put in the fridge, uncovered. When you return a few hours later, the watery mess above will have magically turned into 2 cups-worth of pillowy, voluminous oats!

Now, I like my oatmeal like hot pudding!

I added 3T cocoa and 1T cinnamon, also 1T vanilla essence. Then I re-heat 2 minutes in microwave until it gets hot, no longer, and the volume will stay.

i’ve avoid sugar and chocolate for so long and today i decided to take a new try,

as i’ve found myself struggling again to ED.

after eating a pack of chestnut and large orange after dinner,

i ate a 76% chocolate,

but i found that i was really turning to not liking it,

instead of simply mental avoiding it,

that’s a good thing right?

i yelled “good bye!!”to two people today, and chatted with crystal tsang in the train, helped hilton woo to check her dictation, and talked to tinnie chan for sharing about my english SBA work preparation.

workout: none, AGAIN. so busy with my school work…

food: no appetite at all, so i ate all things i like in a large proportion to ensure enough calories intake, but discovering my skin turned yellow because of the HUGE amount of fruits intake.

I had chestnut pack for breakfast on bus and large orange for lunch in school.

no workout today cuz my energy level was extremely low today…

i went to supermarket after school, and bought a total of $55 for a HUGE box of HUGE strawberries and a small box of raspberries.

Raspberries are a rich source of vitamin C, with 30 mg per serving of 1 cup (about 50% daily value) and dietary fiber (30% daily value).

Raspberries rank near the top of all fruits for antioxidant strength.

twinkle lok in my class said that i became thinner than last month, while my physics teacher has just told me that he’s glad to see me fatter now…huh? so what? am i thinner or fatter?

i ate all that 500g with twenty pieces of HUGE strawberries right after returning home before 6:45p.m., haha HIGH speed right?

Twelve Ways to Win People to Your Way of Thinking

  1. The only way to get the best of an argument is to avoid it.
  2. Show respect for the other person’s opinions. Never say “You’re Wrong.”
  3. If you’re wrong, admit it quickly and empathically.
  4. Begin in a friendly way.
  5. Start with questions to which the other person will answer yes.
  6. Let the other person do a great deal of the talking.
  7. Let the other person feel the idea is his or hers.
  8. Try honestly to see things from the other person’s point of view.

Workout today:

‎2 mins run, 35 mins walk, plus 20 mins TAI CHI…yeah yeah yeah…first day workout was great and I sweat a lot…

Food today:

Disaster!!!

one large apple and two very large oranges in ONE day!!! fruits too much today, and i felt like kind of uncomfortable obsession on fruits, because of the fear on other sugary food…

Life today:

two aunties and two similar-aged-with-me friends came to have dinner at seven p.m. and we chat on hot to make friends with others until eleven thirty at night!! dinner was nice with deep fried chicken wings, chickpeas, fried broccoli, onion pork stew, bell pepper shrimps and melon soup, extra chickpeas for me as carb, and others had rice.

Recipe today:

1. cashew cream sauce:

i just simply blend roasted cashew with water and stored in bottle to be used later for noodles

2. spicy hummus:

again, using the blender, i mash the chickpeas and added loads of cinnamon, paprika, black pepper and a whole raw garlic…it turns out making my mouth SUPER smelly!!!

Things learnt today:

I actually cried this afternoon because of the loneliness. I felt that the ED monster came again and I was so scared. But after meeting my friends, they taught me that the kind of food choices should not be taken just for the future health, but also very importantly now i to enjoy eating it. Umm…that means don’t eat something called healthy but you actually hated the taste, for me that’s packed chestnuts. They can make me feel very full but actually I think they are not tasty at all. and for another example i love eating bread but i am more scared of to count its calorie so i avoid eating them. i really miss bread so much.

Hope I can really change to a new me soon~!

1 Preheat oven to 375°F. Wash apples. Remove cores to 1/2 inch of the bottom of the apples, you can use a paring knife to cut out first the stem area, and then the core. Use a spoon to dig out the seeds. Make the holes about 3/4-inch to an inch wide.

2 In a small bowl, combine the sugar, cinnamon, currants/raisins, and pecans. Place apples in a 8-inch-by-8-inch square baking pan. Stuff each apple with this mixture. Top with a dot of butter (1/4 of the Tbps).

3 Add boiling water to the baking pan. Bake 30-40 minutes, until tender, but not mushy. Remove from the oven and baste the apples several times with the pan juices.

Serve warm with vanilla icecream on the side.

A new study shows that plain old chocolate milk may be as good — or better — than sports drinks like Gatorade at helping athletes recover from strenuous exercise.

The study, published in the International Journal of Sport Nutrition and Exercise Metabolism, was small in scale; it was partially funded by the dairy industry. But dietitians say the study should help to counter the notion that high-tech, expensive supplements are better than whole foods when it comes to athletic performance. They also note that milk contains key nutrients, such as calcium and vitamin D, in quantities that sports drinks can?t match.

“[Milk] is a sports drink ?plus,?” Keith Ayoob, EdD, a registered dietitian and associate professor of pediatrics at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, tells WebMD. “It will supply you with things you need whether or not you?re working out.”

The study builds on findings that intense endurance exercise reduces the muscles? supply of stored glucose, or glycogen, a key source of fuel for exercise. To maximize glycogen replacement, the American College of Sports Medicine and the American Dietetic Association recommend taking in a serving of carbohydrates within 30 minutes after a long and vigorous workout.

A few weeks ago, after discovering that you all are making those raw desserts, I would like to join and try some too.

My favorite energy bar was yesterday’s soyjoy chocolate bars, but it contains butter and white sugar which I really wan to avoid. If I make it by myself, it couldn’t be too difficult, could it? Well, as it turned out, the results didn’t taste like the packaged bars… mine tasted better!

Don’t let the diminutive size fool you; these babies are jam-packed with fudgey deliciousness.  More chocolatey and it’s like popping balls of pure chocolate bliss straight into your mouth.  They’re so rich and decadent that even a tiny taste is enough to satisfy a whole morning section of school.

It’s hard to believe something so good for you—with zero added sugars and unnatural ingredients—can taste so sinful. (They also happen to be quite a bit less expensive than many other such chocolate energy bars.)

  • 1 c almonds (120 grams)
  • 1 and 1/3 cups pitted prunes and raisins
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3-4 tablespoons cocoa powder and cinnamon

1. Chop/blend all the ingredients, using a food processor, Magic Bullet, etc.  (No need to blend the dates first; I just blend everything all at once.)
2. Roll into cutey-pie little balls.  (Use plastic wrap if you wish.) Or, if you want true brownies, shape the dough into bars!

They were so fulfilling that they are my only food until six thirty of a extra large orange~!
